< Guantanamera > 這首民謠， 就是這麼一個有動人的故事。
古巴東段的港口之一， 就是 Guantamo， 這首 < Guantanamera > 就是由當地獨立運動革命勇士 Jose Marti 喚醒 Guantamo 姑娘式寫成的歌詞， 是一首歌頌祖國之愛的歌。
1966年古巴難民陸續逃往美國， 當時 Sandpipers 剛好在那裡演唱， 會見了其中一位難民， 聽完了他對思鄉之情的談話後，Sandpipers 合唱團把這首< Guantanamera > 唱成了暢銷全球的名曲。
