中學時期， 愛上  “Rose Rose I Love You”  這首歌， 不外是有句：  “Flower of Malaya” 。

凡屬於  “Malaya”  的東西，都會愛，這是老師教導要愛國的情操！

也正值青春期，特別鍾情於愛情歌曲， 尤其是姚莉主唱與  “Rose Rose I Love You”  有着同樣優美旋律的  “玫瑰玫瑰我愛你” 。

那時流行的  “給我一個吻(Seven Lonely Days)”  ，  “ 小喇叭(Jambalaya)”   等等，都是中詞西曲。

哼了幾十年  “Rose Rose I Love You”  和  “玫瑰玫瑰我愛你” ，最近腦袋才被糾正。

原來這首老歌，是中文翻譯为英文的第一首流行曲，也是美國著名歌手 Frank Laine 傳遍世界的成名曲。

這首中為洋用, 節奏輕巧，熱情奔放的爵士（Jazz）歌曲，聽了使人頓感心胸舒暢， 情神振奮。
